Toronto's STAYOUTLATE Collective Announce Second Edition of LATEFEST
Toronto arts and entertainment collective STAYOUTLATE have returned with the second edition of their LATEFEST festival. Founded and held virtually in 2020, the event takes place both virtually and in-person this October 8 to 10 at the Paradise Theatre, with three days of panels, performances and parties.

The STAYOUTLATE collective formed in 2014, moving from their hometown of Brampton to be closer to Toronto's blossoming hip-hop community — which was promptly brought to a standstill with onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year's original LATEFEST event was born of that profound impact on the music industry: hosting a virtual festival allowed STAYOUTLATE to continue nurturing connection in the local scene.

LATEFEST's first edition made space for an important discussion among Black creatives, giving them the opportunity to share their lived experiences as artists in Canada. It also included a remote version of STAYOUTLATE's long-running party "Jungle," which allowed the collective to reinvest the event's profits into the music community in a time of great uncertainty.

Back in hybrid form for 2021, STAYOUTLATE hope to make this year's online and in-person edition bigger and better. Programming includes a panel discussion of "The Modern Music Fan," the second iteration of STAYOUTLATE's "Dumpling" event and the fifth occurrence of the collective's "Full Circle" concert — featuring performances by the likes of Boyfrn, Broco, Devvy Dior, Obuxum, Movin' Cool and STAYOUTLATE themselves.

LATEFEST promises to bring together some of Canada's most talented artists, as well as industry and community leaders. Tickets to attend in-person at the Paradise Theatre are available here. Attendees can also tune in via livestream on the Moment House platform.
